The “Louis Vuitton Don” Kanye West made his self-proclaimed title official when unveiled one of his five self-designed LV sneakers during Paris Fashion Week. After debuting his mullet in DC during the inauguration, the fashion aficionado flew across the Atlantic to premiere a pair of a bright monochromatic red midtops. The line will also include other colorways such as white, black and tan. The shoe features a quilted flap in the back so it’s easier to tuck pants into.
The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie Dune,” Kanye expressed. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.”
Ye’s collaboration with the luxury fashion brand is his second foray in the shoe game. Last year, Kanye teased sneaker heads with his Nike “Air Yeezys” that he rocked on the red carpet but they never officially hit the market.
The Chicago rapper’s LV sneakers will be available at Louis Vuitton stores in June.
